Attitude of Gratitude

As I was crossing the Manhattan Bridge on the train the other today. I looked below me, I looked to my left and to my right. I thought about how blessed I am to be able to strive for my dream in this concrete jungle. They say if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. It’s a tough city. The subway system alone might be enough to have anyone rethink their residency. Not to mention the cost of living. You know the MTA just raised fairs again. But I’ll leave my MTA issues for my next subway chronicles story.

No matter your story, be grateful for where you are now. The now, the present, is all we have. Trust me I can be the Debbie Downer of any room. But when I feel those thoughts, I fight them and most often than not, I win.

I’m writing this post in the doctors office, as I wait for his assistant. Today’s visit was simply amazing. “your liver seems to be okay, your blood work looks good and I see you loosing weight.”

“How are you feeling”, he says. With a progress report like that, I couldn’t I feel anything but grateful. You all know that just last week I was struggling with lightheadedness and a stomach virus. But he asked me, how are you feeling now?

And now, right now. I feel damn good. I’m appreciative of every moment I feel good because they’re are too many days when I don’t. I urge you for today and every day going forward to have an attitude of gratitude. Its a catchy phrase right, I can’t take credit for it, I’m not that clever.
